Mission

The Greater Brookland Garden Club, started in 1998, was founded on the belief that we as neighbors can gather regularly to celebrate the love of gardens and gardening. Through this celebration we can be inspired to appreciate and maintain both our personal gardens and our public gardens. Greater Brookland’s gardens motivate others in our community to share in this fulfilling experience.

Organization

The Greater Brookland Garden Club is open to any who wish to join. A nonprofit organization, the GBGC is made up of volunteers and has no paid positions. Donations and proceeds from fundraisers such as the Spring Plant Sale and the Houses & Gardens of Brookland tour are used in the planting and maintenance of gardens such as those at 12th and Michigan Street NE and 10th and Michigan St NE, and other community tree and garden projects.
